Last weekend 10th anniversary of swiss organic fair “bio-marché Zofingen” took place and attracted more than 10.000 visitors to live and enjoy the variety of organically-grown products. From 19^th to 21^st of June 2009 more than 150 national and international exhibitors showed how multifarious the offering of organic products is.

Swiss MIGROS arranged a fundraising within that scope. 3.000 CHF were collected and will be going to the MIGROS-Kids-School in India for improvements, building extensions and the construction of a sports field.

“Alles dort ist anders als hier: Das Wetter, die Gerüche und auch die Menschen. Das ist wie eine andere Welt”, fasst die 17-jährige Nicola van der Put ihre Reiseerfahrungen zusammen. Mit vier weiteren Mitschülerinnen der Jahrgangsstufe 12 des FGriedrich-Ebert-Gymnasiums und zwei Lehrerinnen ist sie im März für eine Woche nach Tirupur in Südindien gereist. Dort haben sie die Migros K.I.D.S. Matriculation School besucht.

“Ziel der Reise war es, erste persönliche Kontakte zwischen den Lehrern und Schülern beider Schulen herzustellen”, sagt Beate Schlömer-Chavet, die als Lehrerin mit nach Indien geflogen ist. Aus einem ersten Kennenlernen sei auf beiden Seiten sehr schnell die Gewissheit entstanden, in Zukunft eng zusammenarbeiten zu wollen. FEG-Schüler der Jahrgangsstufe 11 sollen die Möglichkeit bekommen, zwei- bis dreiwöchige Betriebspraktika an der indischen Schule zu absolvieren. Schlömer-Chavet: “Wir wollen die Schule zum Beispiel auch bei der Lehrerfortbildung unterstützen.” Angedacht sei deshalb unter anderem ein Lehreraustausch. Noch in diesem Jahr werde eine Gruppe indischer Lehrer erstmals nach Bonn kommen.

Auch persönlich war der Indienaufenthalt für die Teilnehmer der Reisegruppe eine große Bereicherung. “In Indien ist uns Armut begegnet, wie wir sie vorher noch nie gesehen haben”, sagt die Schülerin Talisa Vallenas Coronel. “Über Bilder und Filme ist das so überhaupt nicht begreifbar.” Beeindruckt hat auch die Einstellung der indischen Schüler. “Die gehen mit Begeisterung zur Schule und wollen unbedingt lernen. Das ist ihre einzige Chance, aus der Armut heraus zu kommen”, so Nicola. Die Bonner Schülerinnen sind sich einig: Durch die Reise haben sie gelernt, die Dinge, die sie hier haben, mehr zu schätzen.

The swiss association Migros handed over a charitable donation to KIDS about 20 000 SFR. Migros had won a fairness-award about 10 000 SFR, whose directors doubled its value. The money is put in the expansion of the technical class rooms and the laboratories.

The school grounds are more and more assembled and constructed. This includes the allowance for a new, additional water tank as well as sanitary facilities on the top floor. If the sports ground is redeveloped within the next few weeks, the infrastructure of the school can be considered as completed.
