With regard to the official estimation about working children according to International Labour Organisation (ILO - http://www.ilo.org), there are more than 250 million working children in the age between five and fourteen. They earn their wages and support their families. They often work under exploiting conditions, which violate their rights and dignity (IPEC-Program).

In 1998 the “Global March Against Child Labour” has attracted attention around the world (http://www.woek.de). Child labour does not match with European pattern of childhood. However, child labour is a traditional principle of family economics in underdeveloped countries.

In face of global interventions to reduce poverty (http://www.2020vision.org), it would be illusory to believe that we can cut off the circleof child labour. Therefore we have to find a realistic way to facilitate suitable support for working children.

So K.I.D.S intends to access education and training. Especially in extreme cases we want to offer social care to them. In this contexte, K.I.D.S cooperates with ethically and environmentally engaged enterprises like that Swiss Migros (http://www.migros.ch), which actively notices the area of conflict of economics, environment and social one in their filed of activities.
